WebProto drakes tend to work the best in my experience. They're some of the largest flying mounts, so you don't feel silly. For ground mounts, I think the Talbuks work well as basically a horse substitute. They're a bit bigger, which is very nice for taller character models like Tauren and Night Elves who look silly on a horse.
