WebMay 2, 2003 · We have 6 500HP horizontal sleeve bearing motors which were purchased with winding RTD’s and bearing thermocouples installed in the motor. These temperature sensors were not connected to any plant computer and are only monitored manually on an infrequent basis. The motors have been in operation for 14 years with no known problems.
